Three germinating Enterolobium seeds are placed in the far back of the trap as bait and dinner, and one is placed just inside the door to get the process started. Liomys are so fond of germinating Enterolobium seeds that they will evacuate the other seeds in their pouches in order to be able to fill them with Enterolobium seeds. Three seeds are enough for a moderate dinner. The mouse goes in, steps on a treadle mid-way through the trap, and the door snaps shut behind. |
