On the banks of the abandoned beaver pond in image DHJanzen100883.jpg above is more evidence of a starving beaver colony. This young white pine tree has had much of its lower resin-rich bark chewed away by a beaver, a beaver that was not willing to continue the job to cut the tree and get the more edible twigs in the top of the tree. |
