Digging into the stomach contents, it is friable and almost dry - certainly not sloshing around in the stomach like alphabet soup. Recall that this internal world is also free of oxygen, except for the very small amount swallowed with the food - most of which is probably captured very rapidly by chemical and enzymatic reactions.
