Seal Island was directly in the path of the Atlantic-crossing sailing vessels from the UK and Europe to Canada, and many ships have been sunk by it. This old lighthouse flashes a warning, and was the primary cause for a small settlement carved out of the white spruce forest that clothes the island. |
